Celeste Nettles, MBS, MS, LCMHC
Celeste Nettles is a native of North Carolina and a Guilford County Resident since 1999. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (1988) and a Master’s of Behavioral Sciences (1990) from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. In 1992, she obtained a Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg. She completed her internship at the Center for Cognitive Rehabilitation at East Jefferson Hospital in Metarie, Louisiana.
Celeste has over 19 years experience working with young children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her varied experience as an outpatient mental health therapist and her work in medical settings have provided her with expertise in the areas of chronic pain and chronic illness, ADHD, depression and mood disorders, trauma, cancer survivors, grief/loss, and anxiety and stress management. She also has experience working with families of individuals who have been diagnosed with chronic mental illness. Celeste strives to use techniques that are supportive and accepting; reinforcing the concept that clients get better when they begin using the tools they already have in healthier and more constructive ways. Celeste believes that the client’s life experiences and knowledge about themselves can be a guide for the direction of therapy. Celeste is knowledgeable in a variety of counseling techniques and has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, behavior management, and play therapy.
